Broccolini®

Broccolini® baby broccoli is a cross between Kale and Broccoli, and was introduced to Australia by Perfection Fresh in 1999 – rapidly becoming a national favourite! In many ways, it is similar to broccoli but with smaller florets and longer, thin, edible stalks. These stalks are delicious, and well worth keeping attached! Broccolini is a particularly nutritious vegetable, with high fibre, protein, and full of minerals such as potassium and iron. It has a milder, sweeter flavour compared to broccoli, and can be prepared by roasting, grilling, sautéing, or steaming.

Baby Cos Lettuce

Also known as Romaine lettuce, Cos is often regarded as the healthiest variety of lettuce, as it contains more folate, potassium, beta carotene and lutein than other types. Amazingly sweet and crunchy, they are a real treat in any salad. Plus, they are super convenient — no hassles and no wastage!

Iceberg Lettuce

Sometimes called ‘Crisphead’, iceberg lettuce comes in round, tightly packed heads with pale, overlapping leaves that are valued for their crunchy texture. They have versatile uses in many different dishes, as they don’t get soggy and retain their shape and ‘crunch’. Furthermore, their 95% water content gives the impression of a drink of water with every serve, aiding digestion.

Coral/Crisp Lettuce

Coral lettuce, also known as loose-leaf lettuce, tastes as good as it looks. Unlike other lettuces, it doesn’t grow around a head; rather the leaves come together at the stem, and are usually crisp, ruffled, and dark green or red, bearing a flavour ranging from mild to sweet. They offer a texture and presentation quite different to other lettuces, but still offer the same great nutritional value.

Butter Lettuce

Butter lettuce—also called Bibb—has origins in the Mediterranean. Its leaves are soft and velvety to the touch, with a slightly ruffled or curly edge. It is known for its buttery texture that makes it melt in your mouth, along with a sweet, delicate flavour, making it a popular choice for both salads and sandwiches. Butter lettuce contains more iron than other types of lettuce and is a beneficial source of vitamins A and K, as well as folate and potassium.

Celery

It is a good of hydration and contains antioxidants that help to reduce inflammation and improve overall health. Whether eaten raw as a snack or cooked in a dish, celery is a versatile and tasty addition to any healthy diet.

Celeriac

Celeriac, also known as celery root, is a root vegetable that resembles a turnip and is a variety of celery. It has a rough, knotty exterior with a creamy white flesh inside. The flavour of celeriac is a combination of celery and nutty, earthy notes. It can be eaten raw in salads, roasted, boiled, mashed, or used as a substitute for potatoes. Celeriac is a low-calorie, low-carb vegetable that is rich in vitamins, minerals, and fibre. It is a versatile ingredient that adds flavour and nutrition to a variety of dishes.
